Richard M. Schlaifer has over 32 years of experience in diverse areas of practice with an emphasis on general business representation, real estate, estate planning, estate litigation, commercial litigation, bankruptcy and family law. He has both major firm experience and smaller firm experience, enabling him to represent both large corporate clients as well as smaller business clientele in a wide variety of matters. Mr. Schlaifer’s representation of individuals and small businesses is bolstered by an LL.M. in Taxation.
Mr. Schlaifer prides himself in being able to represent business clients on both the litigation and transactional sides. He is well equipped to represent his clients in transactions and in the courtroom when necessary. Having previously served as counsel to a Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee, Mr. Schlaifer has substantial expertise in commercial bankruptcy law. He has been involved in many complex business-related bankruptcy matters on both the debtor and creditor side.
In Mr. Schlaifer’s family law practice, he takes a holistic view by applying his knowledge of other areas, including estates and trusts as well as bankruptcy law. His commercial background enables him to properly address the division of major assets.
